Second man charged in Elmhurst RV theft
Bail has been set at $50,000 for the second of two Chicago men accused of stealing a recreational vehicle on Feb. 13 from an Elmhurst storage facility.
Jon Twist, 29, of the 3500 block of S. Western Blvd., is charged with theft and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
Twist's co-defendant, Joshua Ostrega, 27, also of the 3500 block of S. Western Avenue, posted the same bail Saturday and was released from jail.
Authorities said Twist and Ostrega entered the RV, which was being stored for the winter. They then left the lot, went to a nearby store to buy a car battery, and returned and drove off with the $22,000 vehicle, authorities said.
The theft was discovered six days later when the owner went to check on the RV.
Prosecutors said the vehicle was recovered March 2 near Ostrega's home.
Both men will be arraigned on April 2 in front of Judge Brian Telander.
