Rolling Meadows honors businesses for supporting community events

Rolling Meadows officials have honored 58 area businesses for their contributions to the city as part of a renewed effort to be more business-friendly.

Mayor Len Prejna recently shook hands and handed out certificates of appreciation to business leaders in recognition of those who donated money or products to at least one community event or program in 2017.

In total, 58 business were honored and 22 had representatives at the Feb. 27 city council meeting to accept the awards.

"You are what makes Rolling Meadows grow, move and go forward," Prejna told the business owners. "We owe much of the success of the community events and programs to all the generous businesses that will be awarded certificates of appreciation."

A consultant hired to do a business survey last year recommended the city honor longtime businesses with awards - an idea favored by Prejna.
