Cary man injured in two-vehicle crash

A 43-year-old Cary man was injured in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Northwest Highway and Cuba Road in Lake Barrington Tuesday evening.

A 76-year-old Barrington Hills man was driving his gray Lexus SUV east on Cuba Road at around 5:50 p.m. and trying to cross Northwest Highway. As he crossed the four-lane road, however, he struck the silver Mercedes SUV that was being driven south on Northwest Highway by the 43-year-old Cary man, said Lake County sheriff's office Spokesman Christopher Covelli Tuesday night.

Covelli said that the Lexus rolled over in the crash, but the driver, the 76-year-old Barrington Hills man, was uninjured.

The Cary man was taken to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital with a non life-threatening head injury.

Covelli said although the crash is still under investigation, the Barrington Hills man will likely be cited by police.
