Des Plaines man accused of sexually abusing two over several years

A 45-year-old Des Plaines man is accused of sexually abusing a girl and a woman over several years, prosecutors said.

Juan Laureano, 45, was arrested Thursday on charges of predatory criminal sexual assault. He was ordered held on $300,000 bail — $150,000 for each case — Friday in Rolling Meadows.

If convicted of both charges, Laureano faces a life sentence.

On Feb. 1, an 11-year-old told a school counselor Laureano had abused her, said Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Jennifer Gates. The girl subsequently told Wheeling police Laureano abused her multiple times beginning in April 2015, Gates said.

Several days later, after learning about the girl's accusations, a 20-year-old told authorities Laureano had abused her between April 2005 and November 2009, when she was between the ages of 8 and 12, Gates said.

Laureano attorney Steve Roach says his client “vehemently denies all the allegations against him and looks forward to addressing the matter in court.”

Laureano next appears in court on March 9.
