Geneva man resigns from Waubonsee Community College board

Waubonsee Community College is looking for a new trustee since Roger Harris has resigned.

Harris, of Geneva, was elected in April 2017 and resigned Jan. 31. He is moving to Florida, according to a news release from the college.

The college board wants to appoint a replacement, who will serve through April 2019, at its March 21 meeting.

In April 2019, someone will be elected to serve the remainder of Harris' term, which expires in 2023.

Applications are due Feb. 15. Cover letters and resumes should be sent to Mary Baccheschi, Clerk of the Board, Waubonsee Community College, Route 47 at Waubonsee Drive, Sugar Grove, 60554. They can also be emailed to her at mbaccheschi@waubonsee.edu, or faxed to (630) 466-7550.

Applicants must be citizens of the U.S., 18 or older, and a resident of the state for at least one year immediately preceding their appointment.

Harris is the owner, president and chief executive officer of Producers Chemical Co. in Sugar Grove. He served as a board member for the Delnor Health System, and on the Northwestern Memorial West Region board of directors. He was president of the Geneva Lions Club, and was on the Batavia Chamber of Commerce board of directors when Producers was located in Batavia.

Harris served with the Waubonsee Community College Foundation from 2011 until his election.
