Waukegan home again the site of tragedy as body is found in backyard

Tragedy appears to have returned to a Waukegan home that may now be the site of two deaths in as many months.

According to a news release from Waukegan police, a body was found early Monday morning in the 1300 block of North Jackson Street. Intense police activity that morning centered around 1327 N. Jackson St., a house at which a fire caused a woman's death in December.

The release did not identify the body or offer any details about what happened, and Waukegan police officials and the Lake County coroner's office did not return calls for comment.

"The human body was located outside, in the elements," the release indicates.

Previous news releases show that this is the same house that a fire damaged on Dec. 4. That blaze trapped 18-year-old resident Alonda Caballero Negron inside; firefighters rescued her, but she suffered smoke inhalation and died Dec. 10.
