Burglars hit three Elmhurst homes in one hour

Burglars struck several Elmhurst homes between 7:45 and 8:45 p.m. Wednesday on the city's north side, police said Thursday.

Officers responding to a residential burglar alarm on the 200 block of E. Elmhurst Ave. discovered pry marks on the door and fresh footprints in the snow. The investigation revealed that two other homes in the area had been burglarized, one on the 200 block of N. Larch and the other on 200 block of N. Michigan.

Police are reminding residents to lock their doors at night, activate burglar alarms and use motion detector lighting if possible.

Anyone with information or video of the area is asked to call police at (630) 530-3050 or by email them at policeinfo@elmhurst.org.
