No injuries in Rolling Meadows fire

No one was injured in a house fire that began in a Rolling Meadows garage Wednesday evening, officials said.

Police first responded to reports of a garage fire on the 3600 block of Bobwhite Lane in Rolling Meadows at 5:18 p.m., according to Rolling Meadows Fire Department Battalion Chief Evan Dolinsky. Rolling Meadows fire crews arrived on scene to find the fire fully involved and were assisted by companies from Arlington Heights, Palatine and Palatine Rural fire departments.

Dolinsky said the fire was fed by several fuel and propane tanks in the garage, as well as additional propane cylinders in a storage shed behind the garage.

Dolinsky said the garage was likely a total loss and the storage shed was nearly destroyed. Some damage to the house consisting of melted siding was reported, as well as damage to a neighbor's garage.
