Woman crossing street hit by vehicle in Buffalo Grove

A 62-year-old Buffalo Grove woman suffered nonlife-threatening injuries when she was struck by a turning vehicle while crossing the street at the intersection of Highland Grove Drive and Canterbury Lane in the village at 5:29 p.m. Wednesday.

A 60-year-old Buffalo Grove man was cited for not yielding to pedestrian right of way. Police said he claimed not to have seen the woman in the dark as his northbound vehicle turned right to go east on Canterbury.

The woman was transported to the hospital but police had no information about her status Thursday.
