Barrington devotes day to holiday merriment

Barrington buzzed with activity Saturday for the annual Home for the Holidays celebration.

Santa Claus kept plenty busy at Home for the Holidays, which spread across the village's shopping districts. Santa traipsed from Foundry Shopping Center to the Ice House Mall to the Shops on Lageschulte Street.

Visitors were able to take a free Barrington trolley to go between the venues. Highlights included free carriage rides, complimentary cookies and milk, a petting zoo and ice sculptures.

Longtime Barrington volunteers Bob and Anne Lee were selected to light the village's holiday tree.
