Round Lake Park police investigating baby's death

Authorities are investigating the death of a Round Lake Park infant early Monday.

About 3:10 a.m., an ambulance and police were dispatched to an apartment on the 0-100 block of East Main Street for a 7-week-old girl having difficulty breathing, according to a news release.

The baby was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where she was pronounced dead.

Round Lake Park police have requested the assistance of the Lake County Major Crime Task Force.

No additional information was available Monday night.
