Pilot makes emergency landing at Grayslake airport

A suburban pilot flying a small plane from South Dakota back to the suburbs had to make an emergency landing Sunday evening at Campbell Airport in Grayslake. Grayslake businessman to seek GOP nomination for 62nd House seat

Adam Solano, a financial adviser from Grayslake, is the fourth Republican to declare his candidacy in the 62nd District state House race. The seat has been occupied by Democrat Sam Yingling since 2013. "Are you happy with the thinkers and leaders running the state and local government? District 211 board debates 2.4 percent property tax levy hike

Palatine-Schaumburg High School District 211 board members voted 6-1 Thursday to set a 2.4 percent increase in the district's tentative property tax levy. Board member Pete Dombrowski said he was disappointed the increase, which would create a $222.8 million levy for the 2018-19 fiscal year, comes without a discussion of any flexibility in the district's five-year plan or reducing the scope of its anticipated capital improvements.
