Veterans honored in Mount Prospect ceremony

Mount Prospect celebrated Veterans Day Saturday at the Lions Park Recreation Center, next to the Veterans Memorial and Fountain.

The event included patriotic songs, a rifle salute and the playing of taps. Capt. Matt Schachman, a West Point graduate, spoke. The event was sponsored by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1337 and American Legion Post 525.
