Veterans honored at ceremony in Elgin
More than 100 people attended a ceremony Saturday morning at Veterans Memorial Park in Elgin to honor the sacrifices veterans have made for their country.
The solemn Veterans Day ceremony included speeches, a color guard, patriotic songs performed by the Elgin High School band and a rifle salute.

Em Ramangkoun was part of the honor guard Saturday at Veterans Day ceremonies in Elgin. An Army captain, he served for 15 years from 1961 to 1975.

Richard Dunne was part of the honor guard Saturday at Veterans Day ceremonies in Elgin. Dunne was a chief master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, served 30 years in the reserves, was on the Elgin Fire Department for 25 years and currently is a member of the Elgin City Council.
