Hero characters storm Vernon library during Mini Comic Con

The Vernon Area Public Library held its 4th annual Mini Comic Con Saturday in Lincolnshire. The free event, spanning more than five hours, drew hundreds of fans.

Workshops included Superhero & Jedi Training, with participants dressing as their favorite hero. The Superhero Drawing workshop by illustrator Addie Afable of Artistic Dragon Studios was for kids in grades 3-5. And kids in grades 6 and up were able to transform themselves into a living comic book character in the Comic Book Makeup workshop. Afable also held a Japanese Anime & Manga Drawing Workshop.

And kids had a chance to meet real life heroes - members of the Lincolnshire police and fire departments.
