Schaumburg to dedicate new fire engine

The Schaumburg Fire Department will host a dedication ceremony for its new Engine 51 at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at Fire Station 51, 950 W. Schaumburg Road.

The dedication will follow a long tradition of the fire service by starting with a ceremonial wet-down from a small hose line from the engine being replaced to anoint the new engine.

Once the fire engine is dried off, all firefighters and guests participate in the signature event - the push-in to the firehouse.

All attendees will then be invited into the firehouse for refreshments.
