Schaumburg mayor out of hospital, recovering

A week after being admitted to the hospital, Schaumburg Mayor Al Larson said Wednesday he was back at home and expecting to return to work early next week.

"Things are fine," Larson said. "There's nothing serious going on at this point."

The 78-year-old Larson declined to discuss the reasons for his hospitalization other than that he intends to be back in his office at village hall next Monday or Tuesday.

Larson has been mayor of Schaumburg for 30 years and is currently in his eighth term. He previously served as a village trustee for 12 years and before that was a member of the zoning board of appeals.
