East Dundee seeking management analyst

East Dundee is seeking applicants for a new management analyst role, which was created amid recent efforts to reorganize the village's staffing structure.

The position is intended to fill a need for an employee who can handle upper-level research and critical thinking responsibilities, Village Administrator Jennifer Johnsen said. The management analyst would help with policy development, budgeting, special events, community outreach and various other special projects, she said.

"(We want) somebody who's a self-starter, that's innovative and creative," Johnsen said. "Someone who's, in general, just willing to take on any assignment or task that's been given to them."

Village officials have eliminated several positions over the past several months, including two full-time and three part-time marketing jobs, a fiscal administrative assistant and a contracted economic development consultant, Johnsen said.

The management analyst, who would work under Assistant Administrator Brad Mitchell, would likely take on some of those duties, while also offering administrative support, she said. The starting salary would likely be about $50,000, plus benefits.

"This position would be created to fill some of the staffing void that we have now," Johnsen said. "But the sophistication required with this position is different from the previously eliminated positions."

Candidates are asked to submit an application, cover letter and resume to the village's human resources department by Oct. 27, according to a job posting on the village's website. A master's degree and one to two years of municipal experience is preferred.
