Buffalo Grove police arrest brothers, seize drugs
Buffalo Grove police arrested two brothers and seized various amounts of different illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia after executing a search warrant early Tuesday morning at a house on the 400 block of Gregg Lane.
Dustin Gutierrez, 18, who lives at the address, was charged with felony manufacturing and delivering marijuana in excess of 500 grams, felony possession of marijuana, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Martin Gutierrez, 22, who also resides there, was charged with felony manufacturing and delivering between 100 and 500 grams of marijuana, two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, felony possession of marijuana, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Taken from the house was approximately 2.2 pounds of marijuana and marijuana wax, approximately 1 gram of cocaine, multiple prescription pills and various items of drug paraphernalia, police said in a news release.
The search warrant was executed by Buffalo Grove police officers along with the department's police dog, which helped locate the drugs.
Buffalo Grove police said the warrant was obtained after they received information from residents about seeing hand-to-hand drug transactions as well as observing large amounts of vehicle traffic coming to and from the house.
Both brothers are scheduled to appear at a bond hearing at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at the Cook County Courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
