Schaumburg explores moving fire department offices
Schaumburg trustees have approved a $90,960 contract for Dewberry Architects of Elgin to do preliminary design work for the possible relocation of the village fire department's administration offices from Station 54 at 1601 N. Roselle Road to Station 51 at 950 W. Schaumburg Road.
Station 51 opened 11 years ago on the same campus as the existing police station.
The offices in the older Station 54 were designed to accommodate seven employees but now house 15.
The preliminary design work on relocating the offices will include cost estimates for converting the space left behind at Station 54 into a training facility.
