Des Plaines shrine hosting conference for families of Latinos with disabilities

The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Des Plaines is hosting a conference Saturday, Sept. 16, for families and caregivers of Latinos with disabilities.

The "Preparing for the Future" conference, which is also hosted by The Latino Disability Foundation and Forum for Latino Families with Disabilities, will offer four concurrent session covering more than 15 topics.

Cook County Board Commissioner Jesus "Chuy" Garcia will attend the conference.

The event is 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the shrine located at 1170 North River Road. For information, contact Leonor Vanik, (872) 216-3993.
