Former golf club employee pleads guilty to misdemeanor attempted theft

A 29-year-old former employee of the Bartlett Hills Golf Club pleaded guilty to misdemeanor attempted theft.

Clayton M. Gerlach, of Naperville, was sentenced to two years misdemeanor probation in exchange for his guilty plea, according to Cook County assistant state's attorney Denise Loiterstein.

Court records show Gerlach was also ordered to pay $369 in fines.

Police said another employee caught Gerlach trying to remove bank deposit bags from the office last June.
