Artists in downtown Barrington:

Three artists will display their talents Friday, Aug. 25 at a special event hosted by Barrington's White House. Steve Puttrich, Mort Luby and Carol Foster will be stationed throughout downtown Barrington from 1 to 3 p.m. using the "plein air" technique - painting outdoors from life. They are expected to create artworks of iconic Barrington locations. Puttrich will be at Barrington's White House, Luby will be creating the Catlow Theater and Carol Foster will feature the David F. Nelson Community Gazebo. A free public reception begins at 4 p.m. at the White House, 145 West Main St. The day's work will be on display, along with other pieces available for purchase. Light refreshments will be provided. The rain date is Saturday, Aug. 26.
