BMW Championship golf tournament seeking volunteers

With the 2017 BMW Championship at Conway Farms Golf Club in Lake Forest less than two months away, the Western Golf Association is making a final call for volunteers.

Golf fans and sports enthusiasts interested in volunteering must sign up by Friday, Aug. 4 to secure their spot in the event, set for Sept. 12 to 17.

All new volunteers will be entered into a drawing to win either a round of golf at Conway Farms or two tickets to a BMW Championship hospitality skybox on the 17th hole, with reserved seating and unlimited food, beer, wine and soft drinks.

While more than 1,200 volunteers have already signed up, opportunities remain to assist in staging the penultimate event of the PGA Tour's FedExCup Playoffs. Volunteers perform key tasks inside and outside the ropes during tournament week, including welcoming thousands of patrons to the event each day, assisting corporate hospitality guests and helping out in the event's merchandise tent.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and will be asked to work at least three shifts during tournament week. Shifts range from 4 to 6 hours in length, depending on assignment.
