Grayslake man killed when struck by SUV identified

The Lake County coroner's office on Tuesday identified Ryan Miller, 39, as the Grayslake man killed Sunday night when he was struck by an SUV while attempting to cross a Waukegan road.

"The preliminary results of the autopsy confirm that his cause of death is due to multiple traumatic injuries," Coroner Howard Cooper said in a news release. "The toxicology results are pending."

According to Waukegan police, Miller was attempting to cross North Green Bay Road south of Brookside Avenue at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday when he was hit by a southbound SUV. The SUV's driver, a 32-year-old Waukegan woman, and four juvenile passengers were uninjured.

Investigators do not believe that alcohol or driving speed were factors for the driver, police said.
