4th annual 5K iWalk supports local food pantries

The fourth annual 5K iWalk for Hunger kicks off at 2:15 p.m. Sunday from St. Mary Parish in Buffalo Grove to encourage strong interfaith relations and support four local food pantries.

Sponsored by the Northwest Suburban Interfaith Council, iWalk raises funds for food pantries at Congregation Beth Am, Kingswood United Methodist Church and St. Mary Parish in Buffalo Grove and St. Adolphus Liguori Church in Prospect Heights. Walkers follow a route to Hope United Methodist Church, where music and refreshments await. They then walk back to St. Mary.

In addition to the four food pantry hosts, the Northwest Suburban Interfaith Council is comprised of: Congregation B'nai Shalom in Buffalo Grove; Congregation Beth Judea, Hope Lutheran Church and Temple Chai in Long Grove; Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Prospect Heights; and Congregation Shir Hadash in Wheeling. Donations in cash or by check are welcome.
