Police: Man armed with gun breaks into Lindenhurst home

Lindenhurst police are investigating a home invasion in which a masked man armed with a handgun entered a home in the 700 block of Beck Road about 1 a.m. Tuesday and stole several items.

According to police, the man entered through an unlocked door and took jewelry, cellphones, an Xbox video game system and a television before leaving in an older model, silver/gray Chevy four-door, with a two-tone white/black interior.

No one was injured, police said.

According to police the home invasion was a targeted, isolated event and there is no threat to the community. Anyone with information should call police at (847) 356-5400.
