Taste of Des Plaines opens, continues Saturday

The 2017 Taste of Des Plaines officially kicked off at 5 p.m. Friday in the downtown. The festival, which features live music, food from local restaurants and free entertainment, continues from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday.

In addition to live entertainment on two stages, the festival features a wine and beer garden and a family area with free activities, including a rock climbing wall, a petting zoo, a classic car show and a gaming truck.

Saturday main stage performers are Bunny Repellent at noon, Tainted Jake at 1:30 p.m., Beggars Banquet at 3 p.m., The Who's Who at 5 p.m., Kashmir at 7 p.m. and 97 Nine at 9 p.m. There's also a community stage from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, with Rosie & The Rivets playing at 6:30 p.m.

The festival is at 150 Miner St. with performances also occurring at the entrance to the Des Plaines Library, 1501 Ellinwood Ave. Parking is free. For more information, visit www.tasteofdesplaines.com.
