Schaumburg man pulled from pool Monday dies

A 37-year-old Schaumburg man pulled from the bottom of a swimming pool Monday afternoon died in the hospital Thursday morning, police said.

An autopsy for the man, whose name Schaumburg police have not released, is scheduled by the Cook County medical examiner's office on Friday.

The man, who had been at the International Village apartment complex pool at 1220 E. Algonquin Road in Schaumburg, was swimming with his 8-year-old daughter and other adults when paramedics were called at 12:22 p.m., police said.

The man, a resident of the apartment complex, had been in critical condition at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights since being transported from the scene until his death at 8:56 a.m. Thursday, police said.
