Police investigate death of McHenry man shot during home invasion

Police are investigating the death of a 52-year-old man who was shot during a home invasion over the weekend, officials announced Tuesday.

Police found Donald P. Jouravleff of McHenry shot and wounded around 1 a.m. in his home in the 1800 block of Davis Avenue, according to ABC 7 Chicago.

He died Sunday at Centegra McHenry Medical Center, according to a news release from the McHenry County coroner's office.

An autopsy performed Tuesday confirmed Jouravleff died from complications of a gunshot wound. Toxicology tests are not yet complete, according to the release.

A witness said they saw two males enter the home, shoot the man and steal money before they left in a dark-colored pickup truck, according to ABC 7 Chicago.

Jouravleff's death remains under investigation.
