Support funding for Volo Bog
Re: "Yes, Volo bog deserves our attention and funds," Sept. 24.
In the Chicago Audubon Society publication Compass March 1980, I wrote, "Volo Bog offers a rare insight into one of the few wilderness areas left in Illinois and the bog offers rare insights into the glacier remnants" and a "wide variety of vegetation and animal life."
The Volo Bog remains an outstanding teaching area because of the many levels of plant "growth in this fragile ecosystem." My assertions then are still true today.
"Volo Bog provides an open center to center to enjoy and to learn from our vital environment."
Please support funding for the renewal of this unique habitat.
