Can't support candidate's extreme positions

My husband and I are lifelong moderate Republicans who cannot support Jeannie Ives for governor. Her zero tolerance for a person's sexual orientation or transgender status is unacceptable to us.

Candidate Ives continues to make anti-gay, lesbian and transgender comments. These thoughts and beliefs have been expressed through articles appearing in the Daily Herald.

She is against gay and lesbian marriages and their ability to adopt children. From an article in the Daily Herald dated Dec. 21, 2017, candidate Ives said in a radio interview in 2013 that same-sex marriages are "disordered" and couples are "trying to weasel their way into acceptability so they can then start to push their agenda down into the schools, because this gives them legitimacy."

It appears her remarks point toward any children adopted by gay or gay married couples would have a detrimental effect in the school systems. Does she then believe these children would be better served going from foster care to foster care or a life in an orphanage.

Her upcoming TV commercial is a further expression of her anti-abortion, gay, lesbian and transgender rants.

Candidate Ives harbors zero tolerance for transgender or sexual orientation. What else does she have zero tolerance for that's unknown to the voting public.
