Think critically on cartoons, too

I applaud your series of editorials entitled, "Facts Matter," which encourage your readers to be critical thinkers in this era of so much (mis) information. That's why I find your editorial cartoon picturing Al Gore at the "Global Warming Institute" so disingenuous.

Climate change means that weather is more extreme, not that cold weather never happens anymore. Climate change is not an "opinions differ" issue, not anymore. The overwhelming majority of climate scientists (95 percent) acknowledge that global warming is happening and humans are (at least partly) responsible.

Taking cheap shots at Al Gore is a waste of your precious editorial real estate. Please turn your satire to those in power, like Scott Pruitt of the EPA, who is an actual climate change denier. You've staked out a nobler purpose for yourselves, editors, with this talk of "Facts Matter." They do, and you must do better. We want you to do better.
