Protesting athletes don't deserve our respect

I totally, wholeheartedly, and strongly agree with President Trump's condemnation and criticism of those football players kneeling during the playing of our national anthem, and to those club owners who support them and who fail to take any action against those players for doing so. These players and owners are showing complete disrespect toward this great nation, its flag, and the sport which they are playing.

These overpaid professional athletes don't deserve our respect to watch them participate in this great national sport. Because of their actions and outrageous salaries, I can't recall when was the last time, I had watched a televised football game. With the two daily newspapers I receive, I immediately throw out the Sports section of each newspaper into my recyclable trash, rather than read the contents.

Further, when the nightly news comes on, I press the mute button on my remote when the sport segment is televised and do not return to the rest of the program until the sports segment is finished.

As far as salaries, I feel that no professional athlete is worth the millions for which they are paid. My feeling is that no one should be paid more than the president of this great nation. I have had it with these professional athletes, most of whom I would consider to be immature juveniles.
