Free speech trampled

Too bad you are all missing thepoint, when Pres Trump said both sides were to blame. The despicable KKK and David Duke chose Charlottesville to speak his inflammatory rhetoric to his followers about removing the statue of General Lee. His right to free speech is one that we hold dear to our hearts and must never be silenced, regardless of the content. He spewed the feelings of some die-hards that are offensive. That is the price of freedom. That is what is great about America, land of the free.

The anti-fascist Antifa brought in people from all over the world to invite a riot. Outfitted in black masks and uniforms, they pushed and prodded Duke's people, who had to defend themselves after being pepper sprayed and spit on. Our freedom of speech just went into the toilet.

Which is right? Neither one. Free speech got trampled in Charlottesville. People got hurt. An innocent woman was killed by a Hitler follower. If we destroy every object of bigotry and oppression that left statues and objects to tell the story of what happened, we are missing the point. Some people think this is the way to go. I don't think so.
