Putting hopes in a god with feet of clay
It's about time the Evangelicals and other Christians who voted for Trump admit they've fallen into a kind of idolatry by putting their hopes in a god with clay feet, and by overlooking and dismissing this most un-Christ-like man's behavior and lifestyle.
Jesus' values are in direct opposition to Trump's personality and actions. Jesus was meek and humble of heart, taught compassion by example, benefited the sick, loved the downtrodden and have-nots, sacrificed himself for others, fed the hungry, advised us to shelter the homeless, welcome the strangers and immigrants, protect the environment, educate the ignorant, pay just wages, bless the peacemakers, clothe the naked, tear down walls, and be the personification of love. What a political platform of social ideals this would make, This is what Jesus invites us to implement - the reign of God.
Republicans and Democrats should be racing to outdo each other. I ask you, which party better fosters these principles and admonitions to get it done?
