Celebrating Glenbard West achievements

I just want to provide a salute to the students and teachers at Glenbard West High School in Glen Ellyn. We live in the school district and until the last couple of years going to family and friends graduation in and out of state did we realize we took Glenbard West for granted.

What we have learned is that not only does it register as a top 10 percent public school in the state but also the country in regards to academics, testing scores, AP classes and college readiness. They do this with a student body that has roughly 23 different dialects spoken.

What they have also excelled at is after school activities. Their music, drama, arts programs are excellent and these students go on to excel in college and later as seen by successful professional musicians, actors and writers. They also have very successful athletics in all sports but just this spring semester the Boy's Gymnastics, Girls Track and Boys Volleyball won state titles. Actually Boys volleyball has won 3 straight titles. Not to mention Boys Football state, Girls Cross Country, Boys "Ducks" Club Rugby have all won state titles in the last few years. There are many more state trophies that could be listed.

We are honored to be part of the GW family and look forward to more of our kids experiencing the West way.
