What could be better than patriotic parade?
I love a parade, not just any parade, I love the Wheaton Memorial Day parade!
My friends and I attend every year, sit in our favorite seats on the City Hall steps, and enjoy the event. We wave our flags and applaud the veterans as they pass by, leading the way. Then come the kids from little Scouts to big Scouts carrying all kinds of flags and banners. The very talented middle school and high school bands are interspersed all playing wonderful patriotic songs as they pass.
This year the Wheaton North band delighted the crowd with their high stepping dance moves.
The parade is pure Americana, no politicians, just veterans, kids and bands, what could be better than that?
