Concerned about voting record in Congress

Thank you, Congressman Roskam, for responding via email to my telephone calls to your Washington and Barrington offices. As a constituent, I called asking you not to vote to defund Planned Parenthood because of their services to women including tests to detect early cancers and providing birth control to prevent unplanned pregnancies; unfortunately, you voted to repeal their funds.

I also called and asked you not to vote to repeal and replace The Affordable Care Act and continue providing the opportunity for the uninsured with coverage but to negotiate on adjusting the plan; instead you choose to vote repeal and replace with a plan that would leave 24 million people without coverage.

I called and asked you to support Representative Bill Pascrell's attempt to get Trump's tax returns released, but you prefer to keep the citizens of this country uninformed about his business partners and how he acquires his billions. I called and asked that you not support the building of the border wall. With the amount of budget cuts proposed to worthwhile programs in education, the environment, health and human services and foreign aid, its fiscally irresponsible for taxpayers to pay $25 billion for a wall we don't need.

What I didn't call about but read, after the fact, is that you voted YES on House Joint Resolution 40 repealing certain restrictions on gun purchases by individuals who have been deemed mentally challenged and incapable of managing their affairs. Again, I read after the fact, you voted to dismantle the Stream Protection Rule protecting clean water from industrial contamination. Have you not heard about Flint, Michigan?

As a constituent I am very disappointed in your voting record affecting the welfare of the people of our country and the lack of concern to our environment.
