Local cancer organization funds research

Local charity organization, Cancer Kiss My Cooley said it plans to fund brain cancer clinical research trials at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.

With the support of their donors, they were able to commit to this annual funding to the brain tumor program while keeping all of their current funded programs in place for their Kiss of Hope families. Founded in 2011 in Huntley, the organization is a 501(c) 3 charitable organization. Founded in memory of their son Carter Kettner, his parents Joe and Cinnamon and their volunteer board of directors are dedicated to raising community awareness toward pediatric brain tumors. Their mission is to provide Kisses of Hope to Chicagoland area children battling pediatric brain cancer and has now expanded to include raising funds for pediatric brain cancer research.

The recent announcement was made to Cancer Kiss My Cooley donors and supporters during a recent gala at the Belvedere Events & Banquets in Elk Grove Village.

The KISS IT Gala is the largest fundraiser of the year that CKMC holds to provide a Kiss of Hope to Chicago area children who are battling brain cancer. They are pleased to announce that they raised over $255,000 in gross proceeds from the KISS IT Gala for this program that will go toward both their commitment of funding to Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, and to their Kiss of Hope program.
