Barrington chamber's Girls Night Out set for April 26

The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce's Women's Biz Net will host its fourth annual Shop-Sip-Socialize Girls Night Out from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at the Ice House Mall and Village Shops, 200 Applebee St., Barrington.

The shopping event is a fundraiser for chamber's Lauren Brown Memorial Scholarship. It's named after the organization's former head of communications, who passed away at the age of 29 from ovarian cancer. The chamber awards several scholarships from $500 to $1,500 each year to Barrington-area high school seniors who plan to attend a college, university or technical school following graduation.

Scholarship applications are still being accepted and are due to the chamber by May 7. Applicants can download the Lauren Brown Scholarship form at barringtonchamber.com/scholarships/.
