Second Jersey Mike's opening in Wheaton

Jersey Mike's Subs, known for its grilled subs, will open a second Wheaton location at County Farm Road and Route 38 on Feb. 14.

Franchise owner Jim Shipman will hold a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, Feb. 14 to Sunday, Feb. 18 to support the Wheaton North High School Boosters.

The new restaurant, at 2115 W. Roosevelt Road is circulating 7,500 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to the Wheaton North High School Boosters. Customers must have a coupon to be eligible.

"I am so thrilled to be opening our newest location in West Wheaton," Shipman said. "At Jersey Mike's we are committed to making a difference in the communities where we do business. Supporting the Wheaton North High School Boosters during our grand opening is a wonderful way to give back to this community," he added.

This is the ninth store for Shipman. He opened his first Jersey Mike's in 2010 in Geneva. His others are in St. Charles, South Elgin, Downers Grove, Mount Prospect, Elmhurst, Oakbrook Terrace and Bartlett.

Started in 1956, Jersey Mike's now has 1,500 restaurants open and under development nationwide. This year, Jersey Mike's was named the country's fastest-growing Limited Service Chain and fastest-growing sandwich chain in the 2017 Nation's Restaurant News Top 100.
