Comcast to open Xfinity store in Gurnee

Comcast plans to open an Xfinity Store in Gurnee at 6440 Grand Ave. this summer.

The 4,500-square-foot store, at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Hunt Club Road, will give visitors hands-on experience with Xfinity's range of products and services, from cable TV, high-speed internet and the company's new mobile phone service, Xfinity Mobile, to its home security and home automation platform, Xfinity Home. The store will employ about 15 employees.

The store also will feature iPads and other mobile devices visitors can use to explore Xfinity's Android and iOS apps.

"The stores are awesome places to visit and learn more about our products and services from trained professionals," said John Crowley, Comcast's Greater Chicago Region senior vice president. "Visitors can settle into couches in the store and experience our products and services the way they would in their own living rooms,"

"Gurnee is one of Lake County's busiest and most dynamic retail corridors," said Gurnee Mayor Kristina Kovarik. Along with product and service demos, customers will be able to pay bills, pick up and return equipment and get assistance from trained, knowledgeable sales and service consultants.
