Comcast, VFW partner for recruitment event

WEST DUNDEE — VFW and Comcast will hold a joint recruitment event for veterans from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 11, at Tri-City Evergreen VFW Post 2298, 117 S. First St., West Dundee.

The VFW will provide information about its advocacy, assistance and other programs for veterans. Comcast recruiters and other employees — including veterans — will provide information about open positions, benefits and the company's culture. In addition, breakfast will be served.

“Our goal in holding events like this is to link veterans to relevant job opportunities and a host of other benefits and services,” said Dan Pearson, VFW Post 2298 commander.

Participating in this event is part of Comcast's commitment to hiring 10,000 veterans, National Guard and Reserve members and military spouses across the company by the end of 2017 and to providing benefits designed to support them and their families while they're deployed so that they can serve with confidence.

“Comcast is proud to have thousands of military community members working at all levels in the Chicago region and other locations across the company. We value the leadership and unique skills veterans and military community employees bring to the company,” said John Crowley, Comcast Greater Chicago Region's senior vice president.
