Pathway to Living opens memory care center in Westmont

WESTMONT - Pathway to Living has opened Aspired Living of Westmont, a 107-unit assisted living and memory care community at 407 W. 63rd St. in Westmont.

It is the first senior housing community in the United States to provide residents with Spark of Life, a breakthrough program of treatment and support for dementia care.

Aspired Living of Westmont offers 73 independent and assisted living apartments, including studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom/one-bath and two-bedroom/two-bath plans ranging in size from 400 to 1,180 square feet. Each unit features a kitchen with stainless steel appliances, private bathrooms with walk-in showers, ample closet space, and Juliet balconies. In-unit laundry is included in one- and two-bedroom plans, which also feature a separate dining area adjacent to the kitchen and living room.

Available units at Aspired Living of Westmont also include 34 memory care studios, each with its own private bathroom. Residents of these units benefit from Pathway to Living's A Knew Day memory care.

In addition to A Knew Day memory care, residents living with dementia also benefit from Spark of Life, a pioneering program based out of Australia that complements Pathway to Living's existing memory care platform. Pathway is the first U.S. senior housing operator to offer the program. Spark of Life has been shown to improve memory, language, communication and behavior, in some cases eliciting conversation from residents who haven't spoken in more than a year.

"We're excited to bring life-changing housing and our signature VIVA! programming to older adults living in the south and west suburbs of Chicago," said Maria Oliva, chief operating officer of Pathway to Living. "Aspired Living of Westmont fills a void in the market by delivering best-in-class care in a stimulating environment where residents can thrive as active members of a community."
