Sabres sign 2016 3rd-round pick Cliff Pu to 3-year contract

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - The Buffalo Sabres have signed playmaking prospect Cliff Pu to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Pu was selected by the Sabres in the third round of the 2016 draft. He is currently playing his fourth season in the Ontario Hockey League.

The 19-year-old forward from suburban Toronto finished eighth in the OHL with 86 points in 63 games last season with London. He added two goals and five assists in the playoffs to help London win the Memorial Cup championship.

Overall, Pu has 52 goals and 80 assists for 132 points in 178 career games.
