Great weather, food, music highlight Libertyville lunch event

Mild summer temperatures provided a comfortable backdrop Friday for MainStreet Libertyville's Lunch in the Park.

Food vendors lined Cook Park along Milwaukee Avenue and Church Street as Barrington resident Kevin Spica sang and played guitar.

The two-hour event gives residents a chance to enjoy food from local vendors, listen to live music and visit with friends and neighbors.

Lunch in the Park continues Fridays through Aug. 18. Musicians scheduled are: Pete Cimbalo, Aug. 4; The Mojo Daddies, Aug. 11; and Sagebrush, Aug. 18.

Eighteen-month-old twins Liam Cullen, left, and Kennedy Cullen, both of Libertyville, enjoy Friday's MainStreet Libertyville Lunch in the Park at Cook Park. The two were at the event with their mom, Peggy Cullen, and nanny Mary Sbertoli. Paul Valade/pvalade@dailyherald.com
