Record of protecting billionaires, corporations

U.S. Rep. Peter Roskam voted along party lines in opposition to a measure directing the Treasury Department to release President Trump's tax returns for closed review by the Ways & Means Committee.

Roskam's spokesman said the measure would have "set a dangerous new precedent, making it easier for Congress to target any other American, invade his/her privacy and seize confidential tax information."

If Roskam is claiming to protect our privacy, then why did he vote "Yes" on H.J. Res 86 on the same day, repealing the FCC's broadband internet privacy rules? Isn't it hypocritical that Rep. Roskam will allow our billionaire president to continue concealing crucial information about his business dealings with hostile foreign governments, but he is fine with allowing internet Service Providers to collect and sell personal information about private citizens, like our finances, health status, and information about our children?

As a constituent, I am very disappointed in Rep. Roskam's record of protecting corporations and billionaires over the constituents he is supposed to be serving.
