Wolves can clinch division title Friday

DES MOINES, Iowa - Wade Megan and Samuel Blais delivered first-period goals to guide the Chicago Wolves to a 2-1 victory over the Iowa Wild on Thursday night at Wells Fargo Arena.

Rookie goaltender Ville Husso stopped 32 shots to pick up the win for Chicago (43-19-7-5), which built a 2-point lead over the Grand Rapids Griffins with two regular-season games remaining.

The Wolves can clinch the Central Division title Friday night if they win at Iowa while Grand Rapids loses at home versus Charlotte. Chicago also takes its fourth division title in eight years if it suffers an overtime or shootout loss while the Griffins fall in regulation.

After Iowa's Jeff Hoggan opened the scoring 1:25 into the game, Megan delivered his league-leading 32nd goal on the power play at 10:19 of the first. Blais added his 24th of the season at 15:05 to earn his second game-winning tally in as many games.
