The three-day event hosted by Family Time Magazine featured rides on Bubba the alligator, interactions with Marvel superheroes and Disney princesses, opportunities to get up close with snakes and lizards visiting from the Chicago Herpetological Society, and play miniature golf on a three-hole course provided by Putting Around Town.
"Everybody really likes it," said Caroline O'Connell, publisher of Family Time Magazine. "It is very affordable with entertainment all day long."
More than 15,000 people were expected to attended the expo. Among them was Yvette Duffy of Dundee Township, who watched as her two-year-old son, Lucas, played with a group of superheroes.
"This is our first time coming here and we are having such a great time," she said. "Our son got to touch all the snakes that were over here and got to play tons of games and win some prizes. He's having a great time."
